Swup Express ("we", "us") runs a scheduled courier service in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you book or receive a delivery, how we use it, and your rights. We handle your data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.
What we collect
- Sender and receiver names and phone numbers.
- Pickup and delivery addresses, and, if you tap "Use my location", the GPS coordinates of that spot.
- Package details (size) and your chosen payment method.
- A photo of the delivered package, where our driver takes one as proof of delivery.
- Basic technical data (e.g. your device's IP address) used only to prevent booking abuse.
How we use it
We use this information solely to carry out and support your delivery: planning the route, collecting and delivering the package, confirming delivery, taking payment, and contacting you or the receiver about the booking (usually by phone or WhatsApp). We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.
Payments
Online card, transfer and USSD payments are processed by Paystack. Your card details are entered on Paystack's secure systems and are never seen or stored by us — we only keep a payment reference and status against your booking.
Where your data is stored
Booking records are stored in our database, and delivery-proof photos in secure cloud storage accessed only through short-lived private links. Some providers may store data outside Nigeria; we only use reputable providers with appropriate safeguards.
On your own device
To save you re-typing, we store your ownsender details (name, phone, address) in your browser's local storage on the device you book from. This never leaves your device until you submit a booking, and you can clear it any time with the "Not you? Clear" link on the booking form. We use no third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal and accounting obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it. To make a request, message us on WhatsApp or email hello@swupexpress.com.
